Fiberglass to Be Foundational Materials for the Low-Altitude Economy

In August 2025 – The Shenzhen UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Industry Association recently visited the China Fiberglass Industry Association to discuss the vast opportunities for fiberglass composites in the burgeoning low-altitude economy.

The China Fiberglass Industry Association provided an overview of the industry’s development. In recent years, China’s fiberglass materials have continuously expanded their application boundaries, with products increasingly shifting toward high-end markets. R&D capabilities and product quality have seen significant improvements. Fiberglass is well-suited for various UAV applications, including high-temperature, corrosion-resistant, and other specialized scenarios.

The Shenzhen UAV Industry Association highlighted that China’s low-altitude economy is projected to reach a massive market scale by 2025, with rapidly growing demand for drones. Thanks to their excellent cost-performance ratio, fiberglass materials have already gained widespread use in automotive, rail transit, and other transportation sectors. In the future, fiberglass and other advanced composites are expected to become foundational materials for UAV development. Additionally, the rise of the low-altitude economy will drive industrial intelligence upgrades, further promoting the advancement and expanded use of electronic fiberglass products.

Both associations also explored the trends of low-carbon development and material diversification in the fiberglass industry. With the deep integration of digital technologies and smart manufacturing, innovative applications for composites will continue to emerge, ensuring sustained growth in fiberglass adoption within the low-altitude economy.
